Today, I want to show you How to Set Up Google Analytics for Your Blog. If you just started a blog, I’ll walk you through the steps to start using Google analytics, and also explain why you should. Let’s get started!
First of all, you may be asking, “What is Google analytics?” Google Analytics is the way by which Google provides data to you regarding your new site. With Google Analytics, you’ll learn the number of visits to your site, the pages that your viewers visit, the way they find your site, and the country in which your viewers are located. Google analytics provides so much more than that, but these key things are what we’ll want to focus on as a new blogger.
First of all, you will want to have a gmail account associated with your blog, and you need to be signed in. Next, you’ll go to https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/. You’ll want to apply for an analytics account. You will receive a tracking ID to connect analytics to your blog. We’ll add a plugin to your blog to do that.
Now, go to your wordpress dashboard. You need to add a plugin. You need to add a new plugin called Google Site Kit. Once you add the plugin, go ahead and activate it.
Next, you will need to copy your Google analytics tracking ID. It usually looks like “UA-12345.” So, look for the letters “UA” followed by a string of numbers.
Copy and paste that tracking ID into the google analytics section in your Google Site Kit dashboard. Then, make sure you save changes.
It can take a couple of days or even up to a week to start seeing your data populate.
So, there you have it. This is the easiest way to learn How to Set Up Google Analytics for Your Blog.
